The restoration of the 1890 Wedding Chapel was completed in 2009, after months of diligent work and attention to detail. The building was built in 1890 as the Blue Springs Methodist Church, in the Fourmile Community and was lovingly cared for by the congregation until that was no longer possible. The remaining congregation decided to close the doors in 2004, and the Church was put on the market. The Church was purchased in 2007, and the restoration process was started in 2008. All of the original wainscoting and floor in the sanctuary was restored to its original condition. The patina of the heart pine gives the sanctuary a beautiful glow that can only be achieved with 100+ year old wood. On the front wall of the sanctuary remains the attendance record board that was used in the Church for many years. Some of the memories the members of the Church have shared has made the restoration process well worth the effort. A fellowship hall, Sunday School rooms, kitchen and two bathrooms were added later to give the Church needed space for the growth they were experiencing. Today the fellowship hall is used for wedding receptions and the Sunday School room is used for the Bride's dressing area. The original Sunday School room in the front of the Chapel is used for the Groom's dressing area. The original pews remained in the Chapel and will continue to be in service as long as the Chapel is in operation. When you walk into the sanctuary, you can almost feel the hopes and prayers of the occupants of these pews for 100+ years being wrapped around you.

All restoration projects have an animal story. The Chapel had a resident raccoon that had left its footprints in the dust on the pews. This raccoon walked across each one of the pews trying to find just the right pew. Once restoration noise started and all holes were sealed off, the raccoon was never seen again. Now it is referred to as the 'backsliding raccoon'.
